Guia OEM de Capas de Couro para Fones: Ajuste, Amostragem e Aprovação de Qualidade
ORDER READINESS MAP
Build a practical brief before production starts
Use this short route to turn a product idea into an order a factory can quote and make consistently.
-
01
Define the item
Set the product type, intended use, and the non-negotiable details.
-
02
Specify the build
Align leather, construction, logo, packaging, and target quantity.
-
03
Confirm readiness
Use sampling, a clear approval point, and a workable reorder plan.
A leather earphone case OEM project should start with the exact charging-case model, not with leather color or logo artwork. Confirm the device generation, charging access, lid movement, indicator and speaker openings, attachment points and intended construction before approving a fit sample. Then use the approved sample and a written checklist to control material, branding, packaging and bulk quality.
Quick answer: Lock one exact charging-case reference for each SKU. Approve fit and function first, then approve leather, logo, hardware and packaging on the real construction. Release bulk production only when the sample revision and inspection points are recorded in writing.
Identify the Exact Charging-Case Model
AirPods and other wireless-earphone families can use different charging-case shapes, dimensions, ports, speakers, lanyard loops and lid geometry. A similar product name or appearance is not a reliable fit reference. Record the brand, product family, generation, charging-case model number and market version for every planned SKU.
Use a physical reference unit, an official manufacturer drawing or a buyer drawing with dimensions. Official specifications help identify the device, but the approved physical sample remains the production reference for the leather assembly.
| Fit item | Buyer input | What the sample must prove |
|---|---|---|
| Device identity | Brand, generation, charging-case model and market version | The sample is tested on the exact reference, not a visually similar case |
| Outer envelope | Width, height, depth and permitted tolerance | The assembly holds the device without forcing the lid or distorting the shell |
| Lid and hinge | Lid split, hinge path and opening-angle requirement | The lid opens fully and the top section remains secure |
| Charging | USB-C, Lightning, wireless charging or another route | The required charging method works with the intended construction |
| External features | Indicator, speaker, pairing button and lanyard positions | Openings align after leather wrapping, stitching and edge finishing |
| Attachment | Key ring, hook, strap, charm or no attachment | The attachment does not block charging, opening or normal carrying |

Select the Construction Before Finalizing Leather
The visible leather is only one part of the case. The underlying construction determines how closely the case follows the device, how the lid stays aligned, how the edge can be finished and where hardware can be anchored.
| Construction direction | Often suited to | Approval focus |
|---|---|---|
| Close-fit wrapped shell | Model-specific programs that need a compact silhouette | Shell retention, lid alignment, port clearance, thickness and wireless-charging test |
| Two-piece fitted cover | Cases with separate body and lid sections | Gap consistency, top-piece retention, hinge movement and indicator alignment |
| Pouch or flap case | Programs that value a crafted leather form and easy device removal | Internal clearance, closure, removal access, strap hardware and overall bulk |
A pouch may allow more internal clearance, but that does not make it universal. A close-fit shell may produce a cleaner outline, but it requires tighter control of the device reference and underlying component. For a buyer-focused view of the three current directions, compare leather earphone case configurations.
Approve Function on the Fit Sample
Fit approval should be a functional check, not only a visual check. Test the sample with the intended device and record whether the charging port, wireless charging, lid, indicator, speaker, pairing button and lanyard feature remain usable.
- Open and close the lid through the required angle.
- Connect the specified charging cable without forcing the port area.
- Test wireless charging with the intended shell, leather, reinforcement and charger.
- Check device removal and retention during normal handling.
- Confirm that hooks or charms do not strike the device or interfere with charging.
Do not use “compatible” as a general claim when the exact model and test conditions are not recorded.
Approve Leather, Edge Finish and Small-Surface Branding
Use a material swatch for early selection, then approve the leather on the actual case construction. Record the leather reference, color range, final thickness after splitting or backing, lining or shell, edge system, stitch color and hardware finish.
A small earphone case gives a logo very little flat space. Reduce the artwork to its actual production size and review the smallest line, letter spacing and distance from seams, curves and attachments. Blind debossing, foil, printing and metal details can all work, but each result depends on the selected surface and construction. See the custom leather logo-method guide for the broader production trade-offs.
Evidence boundary: a pebble surface is not automatically more durable, and smooth leather is not automatically more premium. Approve the intended material and logo on a physical sample, and document any performance test before making a claim.
Use Separate Sample Approval Gates
Do not combine color, fit, logo and packaging into one vague approval. Separate the decisions so a late change does not silently invalidate an earlier sample.
- Reference lock: confirm the exact charging case and buyer reference files.
- Fit sample: approve retention, lid movement, charging access, openings and attachments.
- Appearance sample: approve leather, color, stitching, edge finish, hardware and logo.
- Packaging sample: confirm protection, insert, label, barcode and pack-out.
- Pre-production release: record the sample revision, quantity split and inspection points.
The leather product sampling process explains how prototype, pre-production and line-release decisions connect. Keep dated photographs and a revision number with every approved sample.
Define Bulk Quality Checks Before Production
| Inspection area | Examples of what to check |
|---|---|
| Identity and fit | Correct model label, reference unit, secure fit, lid opening and removal |
| Function access | Charging, indicator, speaker, pairing button and lanyard clearance as specified |
| Leather appearance | Approved color and grain range, panel direction, wrinkles and visible damage |
| Assembly | Stitch path, edge finish, residue, alignment and attachment position |
| Branding | Logo size, position, depth or foil coverage and orientation against the sample |
| Packaging and SKU | Correct model label, barcode, accessory count, protection and carton allocation |
Use the leather goods quality-control checklist to build the wider control plan. Agree on the inspection method and acceptance criteria before production begins.
Send a Complete RFQ
An RFQ is a request for quotation: the structured information a buyer sends so the project can be evaluated and priced against the same assumptions. Include:
- Exact device and charging-case model for every SKU.
- Reference unit, official drawing or dimensioned buyer drawing.
- Preferred construction and reference images.
- Leather, color, lining, shell and hardware direction.
- Logo file, intended size, method and position.
- Quantity by model and color, plus packaging and labeling needs.
- Destination market, target date, sample quantity and inspection expectations.
Use the leather goods RFQ checklist to organize the brief. MOQ, price and timing remain project-specific and must be confirmed against the approved specification.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can one leather case fit several AirPods generations?
Do not assume so. Similar charging cases can differ in dimensions, ports, speakers, lanyard features and lid geometry. Test every listed model and create separate SKUs when the fit or openings change.
Can wireless charging work through a leather case?
It can be a design target, but the result depends on total thickness, shell, reinforcement, hardware position and charger alignment. Require a functional test on the approved construction.
What should be approved before logo tooling?
Approve the device reference, case construction, production leather, final logo size and placement area first. A logo that works on a flat swatch may not repeat around a curved or reinforced case.
Should packaging identify the device model?
Yes when the program includes more than one fit. Put the SKU or model on the unit pack and carton allocation, and verify barcode mapping before printing.
Send a Device Model for OEM Review
Share the exact charging-case model, quantity by SKU, preferred construction, leather direction, logo file and packaging requirement. Review relevant case directions first, then request a fit sample and quotation against the confirmed specification.
